KAREN CONVERY

FoodStylist     Home Economist      Chef

Karen is a Dubliner and talented art school graduate from Cork's Crawford College of Art and Design. She started her food career as a chef in Cornwall at Rick Stein’s world-renowned The Seafood Restaurant (2003 –2005)  followed by a stint as Sous-chef at the award winning Caviston’s of Monkstown (2005-2006).

Karen has taught cookery at both The Cooks Academy in Dun Laoghaire and The Cook Club in Dublin city, as well as teaching privately for groups and Individuals.

In 2006 Karen set up a boutique catering business catering for high end events. Her career progressed to working on TV productions as assistant home economist and food stylist,  initially for Sharon Hearne Smith.

Now working independently, her home economist TV credits include working with Neven Maguire, Donal Skehan and Rory O’Connell for RTE productions  Masterchef Ireland (Series 1 & 2 - 2012 and 2013). She has been working recently for Donal Skehan in the production of video content for his youtube channel. Karen enjoys working across all stages of the TV production process.

Karen’s food stylist credentials include advertising and print work for Dunnes Stores and Pallas Foods. She has also styled some of  Neven Maguire’s Cookbooks : The Nation’s Favourite Healthy Food (2015) and The Complete Family Cookbook (2016), published by Gill Books.

Karen is passionate about great food and it's presentation.
